The fight against hunger

Through its mother company TNT Post, Netwerk VSP has been a partner of the World Food Programme (WFP) since 2002. Each year this UN organisation supplies food aid to approximately 90 million people, more than half of whom are children, across more than 80 countries.

The partnership is called Moving the World and consists of three coordinating projects:

  • sharing knowledge and skills to boost WFP's efficiency;
  • providing practical help through the deployment of staff for projects and to provide relief in disaster zones;
  • fundraising and increasing awareness by encouraging others to pay attention to problems around the world and get involved. The money raised goes towards the School Meals programme which provides children in poor countries with meals at school.

Supported by staff

The participation of all Netwerk VSP and TNT Post staff in Moving the World is essential. Many employees have offered to work as volunteers on location over the last few years. Specialists from TNT Post and Netwerk VSP are also working all over the world to share their knowledge and experience with their WFP counterparts.

Staff also contribute by conceiving, organising and implementing fundraising activities. There are many other ways in which our staff demonstrate their involvement, for example by taking part in our "sealing and sorting for WFP" campaign, or by going into schools as a "Game Guide" and providing information about the world's hunger problem (Kids Moving the World).
